|David Fales - A Manning Award Star Of The Week|
Sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, the award recognizes the outstanding performances of eight Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) quarterbacks from the previous week's action.
Fales, a junior from Salinas, Calif., completed 25-of-37 passes with an interception for 367 yards and three touchdowns as the Spartans (10-2, 5-1 WAC) completed their regular season with a 52-43 Western Athletic Conference victory over Louisiana Tech (9-3, 4-2 WAC).
In the game, Fales established a new school single-season record for pass completions (2940 to go along with his other San Jose State season marks for touchdown passes (31), passing yardage (3,798) and total offense (3,669).
The Spartans' quarterback remains the nation's most accurate passer competing 72.1 percent of his attempts and is third nationally in passing efficiency with a 170.91 rating. He was a Manning Award Star of the Week following the 40-20 win over Colorado State on September 15.
Now ranked 25th in the November 25 Bowl Championship Series standings and possessing a six-game winning streak, San Jose State awaits an invitation from a post-season bowl to conclude its 2012 season.

Fans can now go to the Allstate Sugar Bowl Facebook page to vote for what they think was the best performance from the past weekend. Voting closes Thursday, November 29, at 9:00 a.m. (PST)/11:00 a.m. (CST).
The Manning Award will announce its 10 finalists for the honor Weds., Nov. 28. The winner will be announced following the BCS National Championship game on Monday, Jan. 7.
The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting.
