Denver, Colo.-----For the second year in a row, 38 San Jose State University student-athletes from the fall sports teams of cross country, football, women's soccer and volleyball earned Academic All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) recognition. A student-athlete is named Academic All-WAC by maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 or higher, being enrolled at the conference member institution for at least two semesters and participating in at least 50 percent of the team's contests for the season. Among San Jose State's Academic All-WAC honorees, football and women's soccer each had 11 honorees. There were nine in women's cross country, six in volleyball and one in men's cross country. Seniors Alexa Richter of the women's cross country team, defensive end Travis Johnson and volleyball player Katie Turner earned their fourth Academic All-WAC honor. First semester freshmen from these
fall sports teams can be named Academic All-WAC for 2012-13 at the end of the
2013 spring semester. |
