Ventura, Calif.-----In 2011, the San Jose State men's basketball team had a successful tour of Italy.

Perhaps, the Spartans paved the way for another San Jose State athlete to have a big year in Italy.

Quarterback Jordan La Secla, who passed for 2,860 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2010, is playing for Seaman Milano in the Italian Football League.

Rhiannon Potkey of the Ventura County Star writes about La Secla here.

La Secla is not the first San Jose State quarterback to play in Italy. Another is Bob Frasco who played in Italy for several years after his 1984 senior season. Frasco was a Spartan in 1983 and 1984. He was instrumental in the Spartans 6-5 win-loss record that included beating Cal by more than two touchdowns and winning the final three games by a combined score of 93-24.
