Harrison Waid kicked a 42-yard field goal at the start of the fourth quarter giving the White a 17-14 win over the Blue in San Jose State University's annual Spring Football Game. In the split-squad game in which the seniors decided the sides, the White scored all 10 second-half points for the win. Ben Thompson, the game's leading rusher with 39 yards on six carries, tied the game at 14-14 with a 25-yard run prior to Waid's field goal. Wide receiver Noel Grigsby and quarterback David Fales opened the game's scoring on a 37-yard touchdown play in the first quarter. The Blue team scored both its touchdowns on the ground. Junior Jason Simpson scored from the 4-yard line and senior Ina Liaina added a 2-yard touchdown run for the Blue scores. San Jose State's three quarterbacks played for both teams. Fales was a combined 16-of-23 without an interception for 194 yards and the touchdown to Grigsby. Dasmen Stewart was 4-of-7 with two interceptions for 76 yards. Blake Jurich was 11-of-24 without an interception for 111 yards. Sophomore Forrest Hightower, battling for a spot in the cornerback rotation, came up with the game's two interceptions.
