2010: Competed in five races...placed a career-high second place in the Battle of the Bay race (10/6) to open the season...ran fastest 8K time of 25:39.48 at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic (9/25)...46th out of 59 at the WAC Championship..59th in the UC Riverside Invite (9/18)...120th at the Bronco Invitational (10/16).

2009: Competed in five meets including the WAC Championship...scored in four of the five meets...finished 25th at the USF Invitational (8K) for his highest placing of the year...scored and placed 50th in the WAC Championship (8K) with a time of 29:14.0...ran his fastest 8K time of 25:52.0 at the UC Riverside Invitational.

COLLEGE: Attended Moorpark College...in 2009 Western State Conference Track & Field Championships finished tenth in 1500, fourth in 3,000, sixth in 5,000, and sixth in 10,000.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard, California...ran cross country and track for two seasons under head coach Jeff Wrout...three-sport letterwinner at Rio Mesa who also played soccer...was a 2006 cross country Pacific View League first team selection.

STERLING: Majoring in business administration, management...enjoys skateboarding and surfing...also likes to read and watch movies...the native of Pasadena, Calif., was born on September 6, 1989.
