About the Spartan Foundation

The Spartan Foundation is the volunteer scholarship fund-raising organization for San José State Athletics that helps offset scholarship costs of over $4-million annually for the 400+ student-athletes who compete on 16 NCAA teams representing the University. More than 1,000 alumni, friends and fans of San José State Athletics contribute to the Spartan Foundation annually. Tax-deductible gifts to the Spartan Foundation are vital to the continued success of San José State Athletics, as we receive no state financial support for our scholarship programs.

Your donation is a vital part of our strategic plan. At San José State, the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics receives no State of California appropriations or tax dollars for operational expenses. 100% of the funds raised through the Spartan Foundation are managed by the Foundation for the exclusive use of San José State Athletics. Your contribution directly supports an annual $4-million student-athlete population scholarship cost.
