NCAA Regionals Set - Spartans Heading To Stanford

San Jose State earned an automatic birth into the NCAA Regionals after winning their first WAC Championship on May 2.

The NCAA Division I men's golf regional championship teams are locked in position and San Jose State will be teeing it up in the Stanford Regional hosted on the Stanford Golf Course.


The Spartans will play alongside three other Bay Area schools on May 17-19 including: California, Stanford and the University of San Francisco. Also in the Stanford Regional: San Diego State, UCF, LSU, UAB, Wichita State, Tennessee, Oregon State, Southern Louisiana and UC Davis.


Of the 81 teams selected for the six regional sites across the country the Bay Area is represented by five teams including the four above as well as Saint Mary's College who is headed to Norman, Okla. Also, including the selection of Sacramento State there are seven schools from Northern California competing for the title.


For San Jose State, it will be the second time this season playing at the par 70 Stanford Golf Course. They shot an 884 team score at the U.S. Intercollegiate back on May 30-April 1 finishing in ninth out of 17 teams. 


Regional action takes place May 17-19 with all 81 teams vying for a spot in the NCAA Championship held May 29-June 3 at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
