Durwood McCoy is in his sixth season as a member of the San Jose State University men’s basketball staff. In 2011-121, he is serving his fifth season as the program’s director of basketball operations. He first served the team as an administrative assistant in 2005-06. McCoy came to San Jose State after serving as a recreational director for Tule River Tribal Council in Porterville, Calif., from 2003 to 2005. He began a career in coaching as an assistant coach to George Nessman at Bakersfield College during the 2003 season. The graduate of Patten University majored in organizational management. He was a two-time All-Cal Pac Conference selection in basketball. McCoy was a first-team choice his junior season and an honorable mention pick as a senior. The Chicago, Ill., native was born on December 15, 1977. He and his wife, Siramone, have one daughter, Breanna, and live in San Jose. |
