San Jose State record:
9-2, 4-1 WAC. The Spartans have a season-best five-game winning streak after defeating Brigham Young (20-14) on November 17.

 
Louisiana Tech record: 9-2, 4-1 WAC. The Bulldogs' four-game winning streak and weeks in top-20 national rankings ended following an overtime loss to Utah State (48-41)  on November 17.
 
San Jose State-Louisiana Tech series: Louisiana Tech leads the series, 7-4. The Bulldogs are winners in the last five meetings between these teams including a 38-28 triumph a year ago in Ruston. San Jose State's last win in the series was a 44-10 victory in Spartan Stadium on October 28, 2006.

Play-by-Play Radio Coverage: 
KLIV (1590 AM, San Jose) originates San Jose State football broadcasts. Michael Spero calls the play-by-play. Kevin Richardson offers commentary. The pregame show for the Louisiana Tech game begins at 7:00 p.m. (PST). Network affiliates are KION (1460 AM/101.1 FM, Salinas) and KFIV (1360 AM, Modesto).

 
KSJS (90.5 FM, San Jose) also will broadcast the Louisiana Tech game. Air time with a pregame show is 7:15 p.m. (PST).

Television Coverage:
 The Louisiana Tech game is a live presentation by ESPN2.  Joe Davis calls the play-by-play. Tom Luginbill provides analysis and commentary.  The live telecast begins at 7:30 p.m. (PST).


10-or-more win seasons: San Jose State can achieve its first 10-win season since 1987 with a victory against Louisiana Tech. The Spartans have six 10-win seasons in its football history dating back to 1893. San Jose State declared itself as a major college football participant in 1950.


Votes for San Jose State: 
For the first time this season, San Jose State received votes in the Associated Press and USA Today coaches polls in the same week. The Spartans received eight votes in the Associated Press and seven in the USA Today coaches poll.


Three wins vs. bowl-eligible teams:
  For the first time, San Jose State has three wins in a season against bowl-eligible teams following the 20-14 victory over BYU (Poinsettia Bowl). The Spartans also have victories this season against Navy (Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl) and San Diego State (8-3).


Senior night: 
The Louisiana Tech game marks the final home game for 16 San Jose State seniors. They will be recognized during pregame activities.
