Hot Springs, Ark.-----Kyle O'Quinn, a member of the San Jose State University athletics department, died on July 15 at age 49.

Mr. O'Quinn came to the Spartans as the tight ends coach in 2001. He became the director of football operations for Head Coach Fitz Hill the following season.


After Dick Tomey was named San Jose State's football head coach in December 2004, Mr. O'Quinn accepted the position of assistant athletics director for facilities and operations until his departure in 2006.


Mr. O'Quinn later served the University of Central Arkansas as an assistant and associate director of athletics.


A memorial service will occur Thursday, July 19, at the First United Methodist Church in Arkadelphia, Ark.
