Houston, Texas-----San Jose State University defensive end Travis Johnson, offensive tackle David Quessenberry and linebacker Keith Smith are three of the 145 players named to the 2012 Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List.

The award is named in honor of the Hall of Fame Green Bay Packers head coach. The Rotary Lombardi Award recognizes the top offensive or defensive lineman and/or linebacker who lines up no more than five yards away from the line of scrimmage.

The Rotary Lombardi Award is the second National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA) Watch List for Johnson this summer. Earlier, he was named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy list for the nation's top defensive lineman. In his first three seasons, the senior from Sunnyvale, Calif., has 19.0 sacks and 27.5 tackles for loss. He was a first-team All-Western Athletic Conference selection in 2011.

Quessenberry, from Carlsbad, Calif., is a mainstay in the offensive line. The 2011 second-team All-WAC choice has a 25-game streak of starting assignments at left tackle covering the last two seasons.

Smith, from Covina, Calif., is a two-time second-team All-WAC linebacker and the team's leading tackler in each of the last two seasons with 116 and 104 hits, respectively. The 2010 Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) freshman All-America linebacker is one of the most college football's durable players. He has a pair of streaks playing at least 600 consecutive plays on defense for the Spartans.

The 43rd annual Rotary Lombardi Award will be announced December 5.

Johnson, Quessenberry and Smith join teammates Harrison Waid and Ryan Otten on preseason Watch Lists. Waid was named to the Ray Guy Award list for the top punter. Otten, the John Mackey Award list for the best tight end.
