San Jose State record: 7-14, 0-6 WAC. The Spartans opened its two-game road trip with a 74-66 loss at Idaho on January 26.

Utah State record: 11-10, 3-3 WAC. The Aggies ended a two-game losing streak with a 77-72 victory over Hawaii on January 26.

San Jose State-Utah State series: The Aggies lead the series, 47-21. Utah State has won the last eight meetings between these teams including a 58-54 decision in the 2011 WAC Tournament semifinal round. San Jose State's last win in the series was a 70-67 decision in San Jose on February 18, 2008. Utah State has a 19-game winning streak over San Jose State in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum after a 55-47 loss to the Spartans on February 25, 1982.

San Jose State seeks WAC road win: The Spartans look for their first Western Athletic Conference road win of the season at Utah State. San Jose State's last conference road win was at Idaho, February 2, 2011. Since then, the Spartans are 0-6 on the road in WAC play.

WAC leader in assist-to-turnover ratio: San Jose State is one of three teams with more assists than turnovers. Three times this season, the Spartans were credited with 20 or more assists in a game including a school record 30 in the Holy Names triumph on November 22. The Idaho game on January 26 marked the fifth time this season, San Jose State was charged with 10 or fewer turnovers in a game.

Free throw shooting back on target: In San Jose State's last three games, the Spartans made 83.0  (44-of-53) percent of their free throw tries. As a team, San Jose State has a WAC-leading 73.8 percent for all games played. Seven times this season, the Spartans converted 80.0 percent or more of their free throw tries in a game.

First shooting at Idaho: For the first time in WAC play, the Spartans shot better than 50 percent from the field in the first half with a 51.9 percent figure in the Idaho game. San Jose State finished the game with a 40.4 percent field goal percentage.

Big week for D.J. Brown: Redshirt freshman D.J. Brown is in the midst of one of the best weeks by a Spartan this season. Brown led the Spartans in scoring in the January 23 CSU Bakersfield win with a San Jose State freshman record 33 points and in the Idaho game with 18. Brown's 33 points are the most scored by a WAC player in a game this season and the most by a conference freshman since New Mexico State's Jahmar Young scored 33 points against Boise State on January 10, 2009.

            This season, teammate James Kinney has San Jose State's highest three-game scoring total with 82 points in games against Montana State, UTSA and Weber State.
