|Two Spartans Into Quarterfinals|
Fresno Calif.—The Spartans finished a rain soaked second day at the Bulldogs Classic.
San Jose States Isadora Busch and Chau Truong recorded singles match victories. Busch defeated Ireen Kuipers, and Truong beat Alexa Lee both of Cal Poly. The match wins vaulted the Spartan pair into the quarterfinals of their respective brackets.
In the quarterfinals University of Washington’s Capucine Gregoire edged Truong in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. Busch shared the same fate in her quarterfinal match as she lost to Natali Coronel also a University of Washington Husky.
Rain from Friday pushed back the times of many of the doubles matches.
Truong/Leon Chao met Fresno States Olga Kirpicheva/Laura Pola. In a hard fought back and forth match the Bulldogs escaped with the 8-6 victory.
With no Spartans left to play in any bracket on Sunday San Jose States fall season comes to a close. The next time the team hits the court will be the opening of the regular season Tuesday, January 14, at Cal State Bakersfield.
Results from Saturday, November 12 at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
