Berkeley, Calif.-----San Jose State University's Adriana Vogt led all players with three goals, but the University of California defeated the Spartans, 10-5, in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) women's water polo opener for both teams. Bridget McKee and Janessa Schmidbauer scored the other two goals for #11-San Jose State (7-5, 0-1 MPSF). Vogt's three scores gives her a team-leading 17 for the season and marked the third time in 2010 she has scored more than once in a match. The MPSF's leading scorer, Cal's Emily Csikos, and Breda Vosters, each scored twice for the Golden Bears (10-1, 1-0 MPSF). The
Spartans had plenty of chances to score. California's Stephanie Peckham made 11
saves. San Jose State goalkeeper Meagan Minson was credited with six stops. The
Spartans return to action, Saturday, February 20, for their home opener against
#1-ranked Stanford. Match time is 12:00 p.m. at The Aquatics Center. There is
