San Jose State record: 2-9, 1-6 WAC. The Spartans won their first game in Western Athletic Conference action on November 28 over New Mexico State (13-10).
 
Louisiana Tech record: 3-8, 2-5 WAC. The Bulldogs have lost five in a row after losing at Fresno State (30-28) on November 21.

Play-by-Play Radio Coverage: KLIV (1590 AM, San Jose) originates San Jose State University football broadcasts. Mike Chisholm calls the play-by-play. Kevin Richardson offers commentary. The pregame show for the Louisiana Tech game begins at 10:30 a.m. (PST). KION (1460 AM, Salinas) is a network affiliate. Broadcasts also are available at www.sjsuspartans.com.

The Compass Radio Network will carry the game nationally. Drew Bontadelli will handle the play-by-play.

Play-by-Play Television Coverage: ESPN Regional (ERT) will televise the game. Trey Bender is the play-by-play announcer. Former San Jose State cornerback Jay Taylor serves as the analyst. The live telecast begins at 11:00 a.m. (PST). 

Dick Tomey Radio Show: The weekly one-hour Dick Tomey Radio Show airs live on KLIV (1590 AM, San Jose), Wednesdays, at 8:00 p.m. The 60-minute show originates from Original Joe’s restaurant in downtown San Jose. Final broadcast is Wednesday, December 2.

Dick Tomey TV Show:  Now in its fifth year, the weekly Dick Tomey  Show airs six times weekly on the Comcast Hometown Network (Channel 104 for most Northern California Comcast cable subscribers). Air times are every Wednesday through Friday at 1:00 and 9:30 p.m.

San Jose State-Louisiana Tech series: The series is tied, 4-4. Louisiana Tech has won three of the last four meetings including a 21-0 decision in San Jose last year. The Spartans’ last win in the series was a 44-10 triumph in Spartan Stadium during the 2006 season. San Jose State’s only win in Ruston was a 27-6 triumph in the 1993 season. The Spartans are 1-3 in games played in Joe Aillet Stadium.

Aiming for two in a row: A San Jose State win at Louisiana Tech would give the Spartans their only two-game winning streak of the season. In addition, San Jose State would finish its third season in five under Dick Tomey with at lesat a two-game winning streak. In 2005, the Spartans won their final two contests. In 2006, San Jose State won its last two regular-seasn games and went on to capture the inaugural New Mexico Bowl.

Winning the home finale: For the fourth time in Dick Tomey’s five seasons at San Jose State, the Spartans won their final home game of the season with a 13-10 decision over New Mexico State. The 2008 loss to Fresno State was the only year in the last five the Spartans did not win their final home game.

Pointed performances: The Hawai’i and New Mexico State games mark the first time this season San Jose State has yielded less than 20 points in back-to-back contests. The Spartans allowed 27 points in their last two games compared to an average of 36.9 points in their first nine contests this season. A year ago, San Jose State limited Hawai’i, Utah State and New Mexico State to less than 20 points in a three-game span.

One penalty in New Mexico State win: San Jose State was assessed just one penalty in the New Mexico State victory. The last time a Spartan team had no more than one penalty in a game was the 2007 loss at Boise State. San Jose State was not assessed a penalty in that Boise State contest.

Season-high four quarterback sacks against New Mexico State: San Jose State was credited with a season-high four quarterback sacks against New Mexico State. Pablo Garcia accounted for two; Justin Cole and Travis Johnson, one each. The Spartans have 18 sacks for the season and half of them have come in the last three games.

Stingy defensive play: The New Mexico State win marked the first time this season the San Jose State defense limited an opponent to less than 300 yards of total offense.  The Spartans allowed the Aggies to gain 218 yards.
