Moscow, Idaho-Caitlin Andrade recorded another double-double
this season, and Taylor Japhet led the Spartans in kills Thursday night in a
match at Idaho. The Vandals won
the match, 25-18, 25-22, 27-25.
Andrade recorded her eighth double-double on the season with
30 assists and 10 digs. She added
four kills on the night.
Japhet again recorded double-digit kills with 12 and led the
Spartans in blocks with two, one solo and one assist.
Two other Spartans recorded double-figure digs in the
match. Kristal Tsukano, playing at
libero, led the team with 12 digs and added three assists. Sarah McAtee had 10 digs and was just
one kill short of a double-double with nine in the match.
Others contributing included Kylie Miraldi with six kills,
five digs and two service aces, Krista Miller with five kills and seven digs
and Alex Akana with three kills, four digs and a block. Katie Turner added four digs and a
kill, while Courtney Zellmer had eight digs.
"We played better tonight," said San Jose State head coach
Oscar Crespo. "We eliminated a lot
of the errors we were committing in our passing and serving. Now, we need to minimize our hitting
errors to be successful."
San Jose State travels to Boise State for a match Saturday
night at 7:00 p.m. Mountain.
