Corpus Finishes Tied For Second At Turtle Bay Resort Invite

Kahuku, Hawaii-For the first time in Spartan career, Cristina Corpus finished a collegiate tournament with an under-par score as she tied for second at the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational. San Jose State finished sixth after playing the Arnold Palmer course Wednesday.
Corpus shot a two-over 74 Wednesday afternoon to finish the three-day tournament with a 3-under 213. Her first top-10 finish this season, Corpus finished five shots behind Lizette Salas of Southern California who shot a 208 over the three days. Prior to this tournament, Corpus' best three-round total was even-par 216 last year at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate where she finished sixth. Corpus' final round today included three birdies to give her nine birdies and an eagle for the tournament.
Katrina Delen-Briones finished the tournament tied for 26th with a 227 after carding an 82 in her final round. Shraddhanjali Singh also shot an 82 Wednesday to finish tied for 39th at 230. Madeleine Ziegert shot a 78 and finished tied for 42nd at 231. Jody Ho rounded out the Spartan scoring with an 80 and finished tied for 61st at 235.
San Jose State finishes the fall season with the sixth-place finish. The team next competes in February at the Peg Barnard Intercollegiate hosted by Stanford, February 14-15.
