The San Jose State University men's soccer program will honor four standout, veteran members this Sunday afternoon, November 1, on Senior Day inside Spartan Stadium. Kick-off against Mountain Pacific Sports Federation rival University of New Mexico is slated for approximately 1:00 p.m., following a special ceremony recognizing Nick Cukar, Brian McGuire, Oscar Monjaras and Colby Moore, for their enormous contributions to the program. The foursome has combined for 244 games between them, with 188 starts.

SJSUSpartans.com had this quartet reminisce about their fondest memories in the Spartan Blue and Gold, discuss what they take away from their experience as San Jose State University student-athletes, and look ahead to what's next. In addition to their numerous collective athletic and academic accolades, all four are scheduled to complete their undergraduate degree requirements by December of 2010.

Nick Cukar
Position: Midfielder
Hometown: Millbrae, Calif.
Major: Kinesiology-Sport Management
Minor: Business
Expected Graduation Date: December, 2010

Spartan Memories
"My top memory was traveling for the first time to North Carolina my sophomore year, where we played Charlotte at Davidson College. It was my first career start at SJSU, at a position that I had never played to that point, left outside-mid. I ended up scoring my first-ever goal as a Spartan. It was the game-winning goal, and probably the best goal I've scored at SJSU, where I was about 35 yards out, into the upper left corner."

"What I will take away from my experience of being a student-athlete here is the wonderful opportunity to play at the highest level of collegiate soccer, as well as get a quality education that will last forever."

What's Next?
"My future plans are to try and play professionally somewhere, and if that fails, I will continue to finish my degree, and get a job working in a professional sports organization. I will consider joining the fire academy to become a firefighter."

Brian McGuire
Position: Midfielder
Hometown: Sacramento, Calif.
Major: Justice Studies
Expected Graduation Date: December, 2009

Spartan Memories
"I would have to say (my top memory) has been this year. Early in the season, we lost about six games in a row (six of seven) and it was looking like we weren't going to be a successful team. Now, we have come back and won seven in a row. I am very proud of my Spartan teammates for all the hard work and resilience they have shown. Being a part of a team like this has definitely been a highlight of my career as a San Jose State Spartan."

"Being a student-athlete has provided the opportunity for me to experience a lot in my college career. I have met many different friends that I will keep in contact with. I have also learned that a little hard work can go a long way, whether it be on the field or in the classroom."

What's Next
"I plan to become a police officer in the Bay Area."

Oscar Monjaras
Position: Defender
Hometown: Watsonville, Calif.
Major: Justice Studies
Expected Graduation Date: December, 2009

"It would probably have to be scoring my first collegiate goal against UC Davis (on September 1, 2009) from the penalty spot."

"All the new friendships I've made (have been great). Also, knowing that everything I have accomplished here was because of my hard work and dedication."

What's Next?
"I plan to pursue playing soccer at a higher level. If that does not work out, I'll start my career, which is be a cop, and hope to eventually work my way up to being a detective."

Colby Moore
Position: Forward
Hometown: Los Gatos, Calif.
Major: Business Administration, Concentration in Marketing
Expected Graduation Date: May, 2010

Spartan Memories
"My first (collegiate) goal against Stanford with five minutes to go, then Gavin Wenyon won the game with eight seconds left for a 2-1 (road) victory (on September 8, 2006)."

"I take away a variety of different things, but mostly, the friends and relationships that I have made here. I also take away the experience of playing NCAA Division I soccer, which most people will not be able to live through."

What's Next?
"I would like to hopefully attend graduate school, but if not, try and get a job in marketing or design."
