Emmy Belding has been named the Spartan Foundation Student-Athlete of the Week for her performances for the women’s soccer team last week.

Belding helped the Spartans to victories over Idaho and Cal State Bakersfield. Against Idaho, she scored both goals in a 2-1 win and now has three game-wining goals n the season and six in her career. She took four shots, all on goal, to tie her career single-game high.

At Cal State Bakersfield, Belding recorded her first assists of 2009 and second of her career in a 2-0 victory.

San Jose State enters the week with a school-record 13-match unbeaten streak, believed to be third longest in NCAA Division I. The Spartans are atop the Western Athletic Conference standings, one point over second-place New Mexico State. The team hosts Fresno State this Friday at 5 p.m., followed by the final WAC match at Boise State Sunday afternoon.
