AT SAN JOSE STATE: Fifth season with the Spartans... Returning starter at quarterback... 2006: Manufactured one of the most efficient set of numbers by a Spartan signal caller...Directed the offense in comeback wins against Stanford, Utah State, New Mexico State and Idaho... Completed a school-record 65.6 percent of his passes...Completed at least 80 percent of his attempts in the Washington, Stanford and San Diego State games... Before 2006, just three games in which a Spartan passer who threw 20 or more passes had an 80 percent or better accuracy mark...Had a 3-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio (21-to-7)...Rushed for the most yards by a Spartan quarterback in 13 years... 2004: Started in three of the nine games he played... Finished the season completing 44.6 percent of his passes for 432 yards and two touchdowns... Best statistical game, arguably, was against nationally-ranked Boise State in which he completed 8-of-16 for 138 yards and one touchdown and gained a season- high 30 yards on nine rushing attempts... Capable runner ran for scores in the UTEP and Nevada games.

2003: Redshirted the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in football (Coach Mike Tenerowitz), basketball and track and field at Mills High School in Millbrae, Calif.... Was a 2001 first-team all-state football pick for medium-sized schools by CalHiSports.com ... A second-generation shot put and discus thrower... Was the only field competitor to finish in the top three in both events at the 2002 California high school championships... Threw 59-feet-7.75 in the shot put and 182-feet-1 in the discus in the 2002 state meet.
