­SPARTAN NOTES: Selected in the 12th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals...spent four seasons as a Spartan...named a Freshman All-American by multiple publications in 2008...three-time Academic All-WAC honoree and three-time San Jose State University Scholar-Athlete.

2011:  Honored as a first-team All-WAC performer...a CoSIDA/Capital One first-team Academic All-District 8 selection...started all 61 games - 56 at first and five at second...batted .349 (84-for-241) tops on the team and ninth in the WAC...was the sixth toughest batter to strikeout in the country...led the WAC in hits...batted .340 against lefties, .351 against righties and .667 with the bases loaded...with a runner on third and less than two outs he was 26-for-32 (.813)...led the team in average (.349), runs (42), hits (84), doubles (15) and RBI (54)...had nine multi-RBI efforts including five against Nevada (5/21)...rapped out 27 multi-hit games...fielding percentage of .998...first and only error came in the second to last game of the season...named the team's MVP and Offensive Player of the Year.

2010:  Among his 33 appearances made 28 starts, all at first base...hit .265 in 102 at-bats with 27 hits including one double, two triples and two homers...scored 14 runs and knocked in 13...second on the team with 208 putouts with a .979 fielding percentage...two triples led the team...finished the season on a seven-game hitting streak...produced four two-hit games and two three-hit efforts...three-hit games came at Nevada (5/7) and against Hawai'i (5/23)...had a four-RBI outing vs. Hawai'i (5/23)...best game of the season was against Hawai'i going 3-for-5 with a triple, home run and a walk while scoring three runs and knocking in four RBI...with a runner on third and less than two outs hit .800...batted .300 as a pinch hitter.

2009:  Appeared in 54 games making 52 starts at first...fifth on the team with a .337 average...did not commit an error in 474 chances...tied for the league lead in fielding percentage (1.000), third in chances and putouts (446), and tied for eighth in fielding double plays (40)...was the sixth-toughest player in Division I to strike out, with just eight in 187 at-bats (23.4 at-bats per strikeout)...led the team with 27 walks and fourth with 12 doubles...increased walks and decreased strikeouts from freshman season...successful on all three steal attempts...produced a career-long hit streak of 12 games (3/15-4/3), had back-to-back three-hit games against La Tech (4/11) and UOP (4/14)...produced three hits three other times, at Santa Clara (2/28), against Dartmouth (3/24) and Nevada (5/15)...19 multi-hit and seven multi-RBI games...11 multi-run games, with a pair of three-run efforts against Dartmouth (3/20) and Cal State Bakersfield (3/28)...five two-walk games.

2008:  Named to Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America team...a Rivals.com second-team Freshman All-America and third-team honoree on the second annual Ping!Baseball All Ping! Freshman Team...led SJSU with a .365 batting average, 69 hits, three triples and a .450 slugging percentage in starting 46 of 51 games played...scored 23 runs, seven doubles, one home run, 32 RBI, 15 walks and two stolen bases...his average was tied for eighth-best in the WAC... hit lefties (.358) and righties (.368) equally well...batted .374 (40-for-107) in WAC play...charged with just a single error in 359 defensive chances in his first season at first base...fielding percentage (.997) was third-best in the WAC...became the first player in program history to produce two 5-for-5 games, at Sacramento State (4/12) and at Fresno State (5/10)...added three four-hit efforts...scored a season-high four runs and belted his first home run at Sacramento State (4/12)...four-hit games came at UC Davis (3/7), La Tech (3/29) and Sacramento State (4/11)...earned a WAC Hitter of the Week (4/14) honor...2008 River City Classic All-Tournament Team...Spartan Foundation Student-Athlete of the Week (4/21)...season-long hit streak of 10 games (4/11-23)...team-leading 20 multi-hit games with nine multi-RBI games...four three-RBI efforts, against Sacramento State (3/15) and La Tech (4/18), and at La Tech (3/29) and Fresno State (5/10)...chosen the team's Rookie of the Year.  

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate of Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, Calif....earned three varsity letters in baseball (Coach Mike Oakland) ...was a first-team All-West Catholic Athletic League, second-team All-Mercury News, second-team All-Central Coast Section and first-team All-Daily News selection as a senior...hit .404 and posted a 7-2 record and 2.18 ERA with 57 strikeouts in 61.0 innings that year...as a junior batted .329 with nine RBI, a 4-1 record with one save and a 2.16 ERA...named to the West Coast Classic All-Tournament Team and California Baseball Coaches Association North All-Star Team...also played basketball.
