TD Club of Columbus Honoring David Fales

Columbus, Ohio-----San Jose State University quarterback David Fales is one of several honorees at the 58th annual Touchdown Club of Columbus awards banquet, February 9.

            The most accurate passer in the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2012 completing 72.5 percent of his passes for the Military Bowl-winning Spartans, Fales is one of the Club's selections as a 2013 "Player to Watch."

            The senior-to-be from Salinas and Monterey Peninsula College also finished second in the voting for the club's 2012 Sammy Baugh Award presented to college football's top passer. Louisiana Tech's Colby Cameron.

            Fales, Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr and Marshall University quarterback Rakeem Cato are among the players recognized as 2013 "Players to Watch."

            The Club also is honoring Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer as the Woody Hayes Award winner as its Coach of the Year; Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones with the Jack Lambert Award as the top linebacker; Montee Ball of Wisconsin, the Jim Brown Award as the top running back; Marqise Lee of Southern California, the Paul Warfield Award as the top receiver; John Simon of Ohio State, the Bill Willis Award as the top lineman; and Jeremy Shelley of Alabama, the Vlade Award, as the most accurate placekicker.

            Former Nebraska coach Tom Osborne is receiving the Club's Lifetime Achievement Award.
