SJSU vs. CSEB Results

Hayward, Calif. ---- The San Jose State University women's swimming team secured its eighth straight dual meet win, 133-104 over Cal State East Bay.

"Overall I am very pleased with the performance today," said head coach Sage Hopkins. "We are making progress week to week and that is something that we want to see later in the year."

In the 16-event meet, the Spartans (8-1) had 10 first place finishes before exhibition scoring began.

Junior Darcie Anderson and sophomore Christina Bruni each had two wins against the Pioneers.

Anderson placed first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.74 and Bruni had her first place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.58.

The two also teamed up in the the winning 200 Medley Relay that touched first in 1:50.35.

Other first place finishers were Michelle Berry, Erika Harvey, Kayla Nakamoto, Marisa DeWames, Kiley Foster, and Haley Smith,

The San Jose State divers did not compete.

"We are getting very excited for our senior meet coming up this next weekend," concluded Hopkins.

The Spartans face Fresno State in the Spartans' last home dual meet of the season. This is also San Jose State's Senior Day.

The meet begins at 12:00 at the Spartan Aquatic Center located on the San Jose State campus.
