San Jose, Calif. - San Jose State University's Steven Sanchez is a 2012 Continental Tires/ National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Men's NCAA Division I All-Far West Regional Team honoree, earning a third-team selection.

A native of San Jose, Calif., and graduate of Piedmont Hills High School, this is the second year in a row that Sanchez has been chosen an All-Far West Regional team member.

The senior striker started all 18 games for the Spartans in 2012.  He led the San Jose State (8-9-1, 5-4-1 MPSF) with 54 shots, 21 on frame, nine goals and three game-winners.  He also had three assists for a team leading 21 points. In the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), he tied for second in game winning goals, third in total goals and points, and fourth in shots. 

Nationally, Sanchez, a 2012 team tri-captain, was in the top-100 in goals (44th), goals per game (51st), total points (68th) and points per game (70th).  His 27th minute game-winning strike against Houston Baptist clinched an MPSF tournament bid for the Spartans and among his 17 career tallies, 10 were game winners. 

He earned All-MPSF first-team honors this year and was named the team Co-MVP.
