Following its 52-43 victory over Louisiana Tech, San Jose State University has its highest national rankings of the season in the Associated Press and USA Today coaches football polls.

The Spartans (10-2, 5-1 WAC) and winners of six in a row are ranked 26th in the Associated Press and 27th in USA Today coaches polls. San Jose State received 78 votes by the media members voting in the A.P. poll and 105 votes by the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) coaches in the USA Today poll. Both vote totals are all-time highs for the University in the respective polls.

San Jose State is appearing as a team receiving in the Associated Press poll for the third week in a row - the most ever by a Spartan team during regular season play. Coach Mike MacIntyre's team is in the USA Today poll for the second consecutive week and sixth time overall in 2012. The Spartans had a four-week run from September 16 through October 7 in the USA Today poll.

As one of 18 teams presently with 10 or more wins, San Jose State now awaits an invitation to a 2012 post-season bowl game.
