Chicago, Ill.-----For the second year in a row, San Jose State University defensive end Travis Johnson is listed on the Hendricks Award Mid-Season Watch List.

            The Hendricks Award honors college football's top defensive end for on-field performance, exceptional winning attitude, leadership abilities, contributions to school and community and academic success. The award is named after Ted Hendricks, a defensive end for the University of Miami in the 1960's. Hendricks was college football's first three-time first-team All-American.

            Johnson is the active career leader in quarterback sacks with 30.0 and is fourth among active players in tackles for loss. He ranks among the top-10 players this season in quarterback sacks and tackles for loss.

            Five or six finalists will be named the week of November 26 and the winner will be announced on December 5.
