San Jose, Calif. - The San Jose State Spartans women's swimming and diving team is looking for their second win of the season, going up against the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs (0-0) on Saturday, November 3. It will be the first home meet of the season and features eleven races, however there will be no diving. The meet begins at 12:00 p.m. at The Aquatic Center on the SJSU campus.

ABOUT SAN JOSE STATE The Spartans (1-1) picked up their first dual meet win of the season last Saturday (10/27) at UC Davis by a score of 208-to-92. San Jose State won 14 out of the 16 events and set two pool records at the Schaal Aquatics Center. With a time of 1:43.62 in the first event the 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Michaela McLean, Darcie Anderson, Ashlyn Acosta, and Marisa DeWames set a pool record. Later in the day, Marisa DeWames improved her best time of the season from 51.60 to 50.62 and set a record in the 100 free with that time, surpassing the previous pool record of 51.37. Divers Jessica Holden and Amy Kilby also contributed 26 points to San Jose's win. Holden won the 1-meter and finished second in the 3-meter competition. Kilby took the 3-meter competition and came in second in the 1-meter.
ABOUT UC SANTA CRUZ The Banana Slugs participated in two events in the 2012-13 season. UC Santa Cruz competed at the UOP Invitational and the Mills Bay Area Invite placing fifth in both meets. |
