|#8-Spartans Have Four At Bronco Invitational|
Remaining eighth in the current national coaches' poll, San Jose State University seeks to regain its winning way when it plays four matches in the Bronco Invitational women's water polo tournament, April 14 and 15, at the Sullivan Aquatic Center on the Santa Clara University campus.
The Spartans (14-10, 2-5 MPSF) face Cal State Bakersfield (20-13) and Sonoma State (7-18) on April 14 and Colorado State (5-16) and host, Santa Clara (6-22), on April 15. None of San Jose State's four opponents are ranked among the nation's top-20 teams.
Head coach Lou Tully's squad seeks to end a two-match losing streak to a pair of top-five ranked teams, Arizona State and USC. San Jose State's last win was a 9-8 overtime victory over then-#8 San Diego State on March 31.
Senior Dani Curran remains the team leader in scoring with 47 goals. Curran has eight matches left to become the first Spartan to score 50 or more goals in each of her four seasons. She has a five-match scoring streak going in which she has found the net nine times.
Junior Anna Natalizio, second on the team with 43 tallies, had her 10-match scoring streak stopped in the USC loss on April 6.
San Jose State has nine wins in its last 10 matches over a three-season span. An 11-10 loss to Cal State Bakersfield in 2009 is all that stands in the way of an unblemished record.
