After splitting four matches at the UC Irvine Invitational, the San Jose State University women's water polo team is tied for tenth in the Collegiate Water Polo Association weekly coaches' poll. The Spartans (8-5) dropped one spot and are tied with University of Indiana, a team San Jose State defeated at the Michigan Kick-Off to open the season. The Spartans are in the pool next on Saturday, March 9, in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) conference opener against #2-Stanford. Match time is 1:00 p.m. Presently, freshman Rae Lekness is third in the MPSF in scoring averaging 2.38 goals per match with her team-high 31 scores. Sophomore Timi Molnar and senior Anna Natalizio, both of whom hit the 100-goal mark in their careers at the UC Irvine Invitational, are ranked tied for seventh and 12th in scoring, respectively.
