With a three-match winning streak and its first move up in the national coaches' poll, San Jose State University has three top-20 opponents this weekend at the Stanford Invitational women's water polo tournament. The #8-Spartans (4-1) face #12-UC Davis (1-0) at 9:40 a.m. and host and #1-Stanford (5-0) at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2. San Jose State wraps up two-day play with #16-Hartwick (1-0) at 8:00 a.m. and a fourth opponent later in the day, Sunday, February 3. All matches are at the Avery Aquatic Center. The Spartans, ranked ninth in the preseason and Week One polls, made their first move of the season in the Collegiate Water Polo Association coaches' poll after a 9-4 win over #10-Michigan. Freshman Rae Lekness is San Jose State's leading scorer with 16. Senior Anna Natalizio is the only other Spartan in early-season double-figure scoring with 12. Goalkeeper Maddie Reardon is averaging 8.00 saves per match. Ticket prices each day are $15.00 for adults and $8.00 for youths.
