Despite a steady rain, San Jose State University's football alumni group, the Gridiron Club, showed their support for the 2012 Spartans hosting a barbeque at the Simpkins Stadium Center.

Among the Gridiron Club members present were:

John Aimonetti, offensive tackle
Mike Barnard, offensive tackle
Jim Carter, offensive guard/tight end
Matt Castelo, linebacker
Dan Doherty, kicker
David Eisenhauer, kicker
Jeff Garcia, quarterback
James Hodgins, fullback/defensive end
Brandon Knapp, tight end
Jordan La Secla, quarterback
Tony Locy, quarterback
Jim Miller, quarterback
Andre Taylor, defensive back
Tim Stejskal, center
Damon Tarver, offensive tackle
Don Teague, center
Andres Vargas, offensive tackle
Ben Zorn, long snapper

Jeff Garcia offered a rousing pep talk to the Spartans encouraging to finish their season with a spiirited and meaningful performance in the 2012 Military Bowl, Deember 27, against Bowling Green.

Don Teague told the team that the Gridiron Club intends to host an annual December barbeque.

Jim Carter explained that the Gridiron Club formed to support Spartan football.

Co-captain David Quessenberry accepted a position in the Club as the 2012 team representative.
