Katrina Delen-Briones lined up her putts and classes and made it work on the course and in the classroom as she graduated with a degree last Saturday in finance. Delen-Briones was a four-year member of the women's golf team (2008-11) and needed that extra year in the classroom to get her degree. She was a three-time All-Western Athletic Conference honoree during her golf career. On the links, her only individual title came in the fall of 2009 at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Seattle. Delen-Briones finished her Spartan career with 10 top-10 finishes, helped the Spartans win three WAC Championships, and helped lead the 2009-10 team to the NCAA Championships in Wilmington, N.C. "Playing golf and winning a tournament were definitely highlights of my college career," said Delen-Briones. "It was really fun being on a team, going to nationals and winning consecutive WAC Championships. I also helped with the team this season, and winning the fourth consecutive WAC championship was a pretty good ending to my five years." Delen-Briones is now moving on to the next phase of her life. She is going to head back to San Francisco and attend USF to get a master's degree in sports management. But Spartan fans, do not fret. You will still be able to find Delen-Briones at many tournaments that include the Spartans. But you will not find her in Spartan blue. "I'm going to USF for a master's degree in sports
management, and I will be the assistant coach," said Delen-Briones. "It is going to be weird being a USF
Don, but I'm forever going to be a Spartan!" Graduation stories
