SPARTAN NOTES: In her second year as a Spartan.

2011-12: Competed in three events at the Arena Invitational...Set personal bests in the 50 breast (32.58) at the George Haines Invite, in the 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM at the Arena Invitational with times of 1:07.85, 2:28.96, and 2:13.51, respectively.

BISHOP DIEGO HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year varsity letter winner at Bishop Diego High School in Santa Barbara, Calif., for coach (and mother) Kelley Slaught...Was league champion for three years...Finished second in the 100 breast and 50 free at CIF for two years...Held school records for 100 breast, 100 free, 50 free, 100 fly 200 individual medley.

SHANNON: Has not yet declared a major...Hobbies include art, cooking, going to the beach and shopping...Swam club for Santa Barbara Aquatics for coach Mark Warkentin...A native of Santa Barbara, Calif., Shannon Anne Slaught was born on February 25, 1993.
